Chickens. Mark will be there with the Moulsecoomb Primary chickens. Feed them, pet them, they might even sit on your head.
Bug hunts and pond dipping – what’s lurking in our ponds, hiding in the long grass, buzzing around the garden.
1.00 -2.00pm | Wildlife Walk on Home Farm Field with ecologist Rachel Bicker. The field behind the garden is rich in wildlife – but with a few tweaks could be even better. Find out what’s growing and hiding in the bushes |
12.30-1.30pm & 4.00–5.00pm | Flower and leaf pounding creativity workshop Takaki (or Hapa) Zome is the Japanese art of transferring botanical dyes from flowers and leaves onto fabric by ‘hammering’ them with a pebble. Suitable for adults and children |
1.30 pm 3.30 pm 5.00 pm | Bees. Find out about honeybees with Ben at the forest garden hives. We’ve even got some spare bee suits for people to have a closer look |
12.30pm & 3.30pm | Macrame workshops. Make Hanging baskets out of nettle and macrame cord |
5.00pm | Raffle |
